Heather offers multiple styles of Professional Development and works with you to get at the heart of the need to decide a topic and flow. She offers Full and Half Day classic style, interactive workshops as well as an integrated model with more small group support over a period of time. Here an admin can offer smaller groups (ie grade level meetings), where colleagues are familiar with each other and their shared students to ask scenario based questions and feel well equipped to know what to say to untangle a child, deescalate a child, and more with empathy AND boundaries.
Topics Include but not limited to:
Full or Half Day PD Workshops
A traditional professional development at the building level. This interactive day consists of presentations, educators working together in groups, scenario work, laser coaching, and more. The day ends with educators having tangible, real and effective plans and language to use immediately in their classrooms.
Integrative Model
This model is tailored to reach groups in a more intimate way. A potential scenario is: shorter whole group presentation at a staff meeting. Follow up 2 times with each grade level (or grade span) at staff meetings to talk about their specific questions over a series of a few weeks. This allows educators to put into practice and have direct access in follow ups for support, validation, and more. Educators leave with even more specific examples for their actual classrooms.
Hybrid/Tailor Your Own PD
Want a combo of both of these options? Perhaps a Half Day PD workshop and 1 or 2 follow ups at the building and/or grade level to allow educators even more access to tailoring their needs. If so, this is for you.
